On an unexpected bloom.

The first flowers that Jeff ever gave to me were Asiatic lilies. They grew in a pot for a little while, and then he planted them along the side of the house.

For the past few years, the lilies have glowed orange when they bloom.

This year, a deep red flower blossomed alongside the orange ones.

It’s fun to look for those colorful little surprises!

This Week on the Farm

It’s been a good week for grazing, with just the right amount of rain. The Christmas trees have been happy, too.

The Musketeers.

Jeff is working on modifications for the hay wagons we use as shade and water storage. These modifications will make it easier to work with the animals out in the pasture. For example, if I need to examine an individual animal, I can put a halter on it and tie the halter to the metal rod Jeff just installed.
