A Flurry of Lambs
On an update from the lambing barn.
Current 2025 Lamb Count: 7
Lambing season continues!
This is our sixth season of lambing out Shetland ewes, and I have yet to assist with their births. Ease of lambing is one benefit of raising these natives of the northern islands of Scotland. The sheep seem to know that, way back, they roamed freely on the windswept hills of Shetland.
So far, we have six black lambs and one white lamb, with all ewes and lambs doing well.

Last week, I reported that Haggis commandeered Mia’s dog bed.
It seems that the canine and feline have now come to a compromise. This was the scene Wednesday from my desk:
This week, we’ll have warmer weather, which brings with it some pretty muddy conditions. We’ll have to be careful not to get the vehicles stuck!
