Lambing '25 Has Arrived

On the start of cuteness overload.

Lambing season has begun!

Newborn twin ewes lounged beside the water tanks when I arrived at the farm yesterday afternoon. They were born out in the pasture to Olive. Once we’d prepared their new pen, Jeff gathered the lambs in his arms, I led Olive on a halter, and we took them to the barn.

Olive is one of those mums who is content watching over her offspring, so we left the lambs in good care when we left the farm last night.

It’s a rejuvenating new beginning, and we’re excited to see who will join our flock next!

Thanks for Reading!

And I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead with this moment preserved in picture and prose. Consider:

This Week on the Farm

For the most part, the cats and dog stayed inside for the frigid weather. Mia napped from her dog bed while the cats raced throughout the house. One day, while Mia was eating lunch, Haggis took over the warm dog bed, curling up in a hollow that was the perfect size.

Mia resorted to the floor, lying on a doggy pillow and sighing loudly.

With feels-like temps at -8 F last Sunday night and real at 0 F Monday morning, there was ice to break in the stock tanks. Last year, we began using multiple small tanks instead of one big tank. That helped keep the water liquid for longer. We’re doing that again this year. So far, it’s helped again!
