Winter Sunset
On where to find warmth.
Winter seems to have arrived pretty early for this part of the world. A week ago, the temperature was in the 20s with the wind speeds the same.
When working with animals, though, there is always warmth in the winter, whether it's in their fluffy wool or friendly bleats. There's a horse's amiable gaze as it stands at the fence waiting for feed, and a cow's contented munch at the feeder.
And when all of that is framed by a winter sunset of reds and yellows and oranges--all classified as warm colors--then the cold bites a little less.

This Week on the Farm
We turned the llamas in with the sheep last week, and they are proving astute guardian animals. They give me peace of mind that the sheep will be protected.
Also, the plan is to shear lambs so that their beautiful soft fleeces are available for purchase. The warmth of lambs' wool is wonderful, and these raw fleeces will provide fiber artists and weavers some great material to work with. Let the fiber artists in your life know that we'll have wool for them soon!
