Tan Trio

On three goats.

Yesterday morning, I caught an older ewe in the pasture and led her to the barn. The goats were the most concerned with this movement, and they followed the ewe and me to the netting.

I quickly led her through and closed the netting behind her, which disappointed the goats. They stood there for a while, voicing their discontent, and watched the barn door for future movement.

These three are inseparable. Where one goes, the others follow. They chew on my coveralls and once got a hold of the cord to my headphones. Now that frigid weather is here, the goats' fur is thick, but soft.

So I give them a scratch between the horns and a stroke on the back.

And I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead with this moment preserved in picture and prose. Consider:

This Week on the Farm

She hadn't shown before now, but the ewe I transferred out of the pasture is expecting lambs within the week! We had bought her from another farm, where she had been housed with other ewes and a ram, but it hadn't been guaranteed that she was bred.

We're excited to see these new lambs!
