Sun on Needles

On beautiful weather.

Late afternoon sun shines gently on a Canaan fir's needles. Songbirds chirp in the woods next to the Christmas tree patch. A heron glides overhead.

This Week on the Farm

Last week was jam-packed, and this week will be much the same. Lambing season concluded Friday! Five lambs arrived on Thursday, and the final one appeared the next day. That makes 19 lambs total, and we'll soon announce the winner of our lamb count guessing contest.

We started spreading fertilizer around the base of the trees over the weekend. It took several math calculations with my uncle's help to figure out how many ounces of nutrients each tree needed, but we got there eventually!

At the end of this week, we'll be at the Greencastle Wool Show with both Shetland and Shropshire fleeces.
