Spring Swings
On a week of swift transitions.

How the week began.
With the temperatures shooting upwards over the last couple of weeks, I didn’t expect to need my coveralls again. But I had to pull them out for the first half of the week, with snow and temperatures in the teens.
Monday, I had some extra time between finishing chores and starting my off-farm job, and Mia and I went to the creek to see how high it was. It roared over rocks in miniature waves and waterfalls, and as I stood watching, snow began to flurry around the trees, which whooshed with the wind.
Tuesday, it was hard to keep warm. But Wednesday, it began to warm up, and Thursday morning, with temperatures rising back to the 70s, Spain had twins! With the grass growing and starting to display its best greens, it was hard to be inside and work on the computer.
The week ended with the spring equinox, highs nearing 80, a completely different picture than the beginning of the week. Quite the Spring Swing!

How the week ended. World, meet Valencia. Valencia, meet World!

Lamb Count: 7
Welcome, little Shetlands! Our first Shetland lambs, a ewe and ram, arrived on Thursday to Spain.

Checking out mum’s breakfast.
Spring cleaning began in the barn yesterday under Mia’s close supervision:

Another of Spain’s lambs is available for his next home! He’s a 3/21/24 son of a North American International Livestock Exposition class winner. Like his mum, he has a great disposition. Reply to this email for more photos and info.
