New Sheriff in Town
On adding a new guard llama.

New llama, Lenny, and Jeff negotiate terms on living at the farm.
Theres a new sheriff in town.
That is, a Sheriff Llama.
Lenny formerly guarded cattle. His previous caretaker said that before she had Lenny, she would lose calves to coyotes. After he moved in, she lost no calves.
But the cattle moved to another farm, and Lenny stayed with his fellow llamas, so he didn't have a job. He's now moved to our farm, and he'll be guarding the sheep and goats along with Daishin.
You could tell from the look on his face that he meant business as soon as he arrived.

“I'm in charge now.”
We’ll sleep safe and sound tonight knowing that Lenny is around.
Thanks for Reading!

This Week on the Farm
Lamb Count: 11
A lot happened this past week.
A new Shropshire lamb arrived. Mia kept a close eye on him, as well as the others.

Mia watching the lambs. During chores, she sits and watches, ears flicking up and down with interest.
It has been raining hard for the last few days, and as a result, Mia had a new pond to splash through.

Mia loves being in the water.
Since the pond is right where we need to plant Christmas trees, we'll be researching ways to work with that wet spot. Trees don't always like their feet (roots) wet, so we try to keep them dry.
On Thursday, Jeff drove to and from Michigan, picking up the firs we will be planting as Christmas trees over the next month.

More than 500 baby Christmas trees can fit in the back of a mini van.
Right as Jeff drove into the barnyard Thursday evening with our baby Christmas trees, a double rainbow arced over the farm.

A beautiful end to the day.
