New Pastures

On growing grass.

Friday, I opened up a new paddock for the sheep, goats, and llama (SGL). As they waited for me to open the netting, they chatted in excitement.

As soon as they reached the fresh food, everything became quiet.

This Week on the Farm

Today, we plan to finish planting Christmas trees! Last week, the final Shetland lambs were born out in the pasture. Milis had begun lambing during morning chores, and I was able to welcome the lambs into the world.

While Milis licks her newborn lamb, the bigger lambs are curious to learn about this new friend.

Avery, a Purdue agricultural communication student, recently visited the farm to interview me for an Indiana Forage Council article. Since I also studied ag communication at Purdue, we had a great conversation about ag journalism, life with livestock and my work in with ag diversification.
