Llama at Attention

On interrupting dinner.

When you’re eating dinner but the sheep need guarding, you multitask.

We have two llamas watching the sheep, and they do a great job at it. When a car approaches, their ears perk up, and they stand at attention. If one of us approaches, this guy will lope over for what he claims is a full investigation.

But really, he just wants a scratch under the chin.

Thanks for Reading!

And I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead with this moment preserved in picture and prose. Consider:

  • What would you do if your dinner was interrupted?

This Week on the Farm

The first frost is not far away, so we’re working with that in mind. It’s time to think about where each group will live this winter and prepare that place for them.

With days like yesterday (pictured below), it’s hard to imagine winter being here. Autumn is showing its incredible self right now. This month, we’ve enjoyed the Covered Bridge Festival (several visitors slow their cars or stop when they see the Clydesdales in the picture), as well as the Feast of the Hunter’s Moon held at Fort Ouiatenon outside of West Lafayette.

Farm Shop

We’re excited to be displaying Light in Winter: The Exhibition this January! In celebration, we’re offering the opportunity to give light to others with patronage of the show or a subscription to Seasons 1 or 2.

With patronage or a subscription, we'll send you some ways you can stay warm this winter, whether though a cozy mug of tea, the perfect bookmark for your evening read, or a bright beginning to your winter Wednesdays.
