Joyfully
On a dog's infectious happiness.
Mia the Farm Dog shares her infectious joy and love for living whenever we work in the pastures or the barn.
She leaps straight up into the air and floats over the netting as she works with the stock. Mia pounces once, twice, three times in the hillside pasture when she finds a bug she wants to investigate. And when she sees you, she bolts to you and flops over on her side for a good scratch.
The joy emanating from Mia as she galloped to greet Jeff and Dad is contagious! Even now, as I’m writing, she is savoring her supper, feasting on all the delicious fare of her Farm Dog Life.

This Week on the Farm
This week is National Forage Week, celebrating the grasses, legumes, and other plants we graze on the farm! The Indiana Forage Council, which we’re a part of, is hosting a contest on Facebook with challenges each day of National Forage Week. Prizes are $100, $75, and $50 gift cards to Rural King, and it starts today!
From the archives: grazing on the hillside last summer.
Yesterday, we finished up our Sheep Spa Days with the Shetlands, giving them mani/pedis and health checks. Everyone is ready for the summer now! It was good we were able to work with the sheep yesterday, as we’re looking at temperatures in the 90s this week. With the heat, we’ll make sure to keep things as low stress as possible, for both humans and animals.
