Harvest Time

On the view from here.

Sunset over corn nearing harvest.

Combines whir through the corn fields under brilliant blue skies. Grain trucks roar down the highway, rushing from field to elevator. Headlights from pick-ups shine on harvest equipment as a grain farmer finishes his day.

As I drive around the farm, feeding the animals, yellow walnut leaves twist downward along the outskirts of the Hillside Pasture.

Pumpkins glow in the sunrise and morning mist. Song birds hop around the barn, looking for grain.

Autumn has begun.

This Week on the Farm

Pumpkins are here!

Shropshires graze beside pumpkins.

Jeff grows them each year for the animals. The pumpkins can help the sheep, goats, and llamas get rid of internal bugs.

This week, we'll continue barn prep for the winter. Now’s a great time to do that as the days are cooler and the animals are all out on pasture.
