Fleabane

On small but mighty native plants.

White flowers with a yellow center against a grassy backdrop.

The sparse, delicate fleabane petals contrast beautifully with the thick grasses and leaves spread across the ground. Fleabane is found often in our cattle pastures. The flowers are small but mighty in their brightness.

Fleabane may not have a pleasant name, but it's a native plant across North America. Native plants have many benefits: they preserve biodiversity and are in balance with the flora and fauna around them. They're well-adapted to the climate of the area, as well.

Native plants are especially great for pollinators, like bees and the Monarch butterfly (which is now considered endangered).

There are many native plants in all kinds of colors. Finding them in the pasture adds extra delight to a walk around the farm.
