Feed Mill Calico
On meeting a new kitten.
The feed mill recently acquired new kittens. It’s a great place to catch mice, and when I stopped by Friday, this calico kitten sat on the dock, watching the customers drive in and out.
Occasionally, she'd bounce to the ground and wander among truck tires. While I waited for a mill employee to load my order of corn and oats, I bent down with my camera phone. She stepped slowly toward me, sniffing at the back of the device. When I reached out my hand, she darted away, done with socializing.
Later that day, in a return trip to the feed mill, Jeff made friends with a friendly black kitten.

This Week on the Farm
This week, we’ll continue to prepare for State Fair. That involves not only getting the show string ready but also making sure the animals that stay home are in a paddock with plenty of forage so they won't need moved during the Fair.
And by the way, Milis says hi! She’s part of this year’s show string.
Farm Shop
Ram lamb Bruinen is part of our show string, and he’ll be available for your flock after the State Fair. His sire, Gandalf, won first place at the North American International Livestock Exposition, and his horn growth is impressive so far.
