Deciduous Tree-ts
On sheep snacks.

Last week, our ewe lambs cleared trees and weeds from the barn yard.
When I first installed netting around the perimeter, I could hardly move through the thick growth. Two days later, the sheep had stripped all the leaves from the branches they could reach and cleaned up brush around the developing trunks.
But to reach the canopy, they needed some help.
I took some brush cutters and cut the young trees down so the ewes could reach and eat them.
The first plant fell with a swoosh, and the animals swarmed around it to munch the tasty tree-ts.

The ewes needed some help in reaching these canopy leaves; a brush cutter made the treats more accessible.
Even though Tuesday night brought a major storm system through the area, creeks and rivers still run low.
On Thursday, Mia sprinted to the creek. I followed with the side-by-side, shutting off the engine at the bank. The water lay still in pools, and the rocks, which usually ring with the current, stayed silent.
