A Country Road Flag
On crops and a country.
Happy Independence Day Weekend!
The American flag means many things to many people. This one pictured is the first in a row of red, white, and blue along a back road lined by corn and soybeans. I drive this road between the farm and the house each morning and evening, the light changing, it seems, every minute.
The crops grow, the light changes, and the country grows and changes. This flag looks as if it is stretching out a welcoming corner to the viewer. We too are stretching--and learning--as a community and as individuals.
Thanks for Reading!
And I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead with this moment preserved in picture and prose. Consider:

This Week on the Farm
Over the last few months, we've been working on a project to rearrange the barn and pens within. It'll soon be weaning time, so this week, we'll continue that project; when we've finished, the lambs will have comfortable pens for when they leave their mothers for their own grand adventures.
