Clouds Over Corn

On trials.

Clouds—true clouds—have been a relief for us this summer.

We’ve had a lot of wildfire haze from Canada coating the farm. Sunday, it was difficult to tell time because the haze blocked the sun. Sadly, the baby goat didn’t make it. And humidity swamped us all week.

And then, Thursday’s majestic thunderclouds awed every time I turned a corner. They protected from the sun and poured down rain, inches in an hour.

The sheep were soaked Thursday evening, but it didn’t look like it later because their wool—their armor—absorbed the rain.

Thanks for Reading!

And I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead with this moment preserved in picture and prose. Consider:

  • When have you been soaked but didn’t show it?
