Cat Scan

On examining new purchases.

Each new farm purchase receives a Cat Scan. This weekend, Meaux and Yellow Cat inspected a trailer full of hay and a truck bed filled with straw and lamb feed.

It’s officially spring now, and with our sheep number increase thanks to new lambs (like the one featured at the end of this missive!), we’re feeding more hay. At last week’s auction, we caught up with nearby hay producers and learned they still had square bales available. So, we picked some up yesterday.

Yellow Cat had been sitting on the bale above Meaux, but he fled when I came near with my phone in front of me. Camera shy….

This Week on the Farm

Our first Shetland lamb was born Friday. Shropshire lambs are cute, but Shetlands take it to a whole new level….

So we’re hoping to seeing more Shetland lambs this week as we plan for our next sheep trip, which will be to the Greencastle Wool Show in mid-April.
